Bookshop.Org is an online bookshop with a difference. It’s mission is to financially support local, independent bookshops. The idea was to create an easy, convenient way for customers to get books and support independent bookshops at the same time.
This is what they have to say on their website:
“We believe that bookshops are essential to a healthy culture. They are where authors can connect with readers, where we discover new writers, where children get hooked on the thrill of reading that can last a lifetime. They are also anchors for our high streets and communities — owned, staffed, run and full of real people who have a genuine love of books and reading.”
If you want to choose a specific bookshop to support, you can choose them via a handy map, they’ll receive 30% of the cover price (or almost all of the profit) on orders for a year. You don’t have to choose a book. In that instance, 10% of the cover price of an order will contribute to an earnings pool that will be evenly distributed among participating independent bookshops each month.
Bookshop.Org have invited me to be their booklover in the spotlight. If you head on over to my shop you will see curated bookshelves of books I’ve loved from first page to last, recent reviews, Under the Reader’s Radar featured books and 2023 books to add to your TBR.
You can find links to my bookshop and shelves here.
(This is an affiliate link and I may receive some payment for any purchases made through it – pennies not pounds)
If there’s a book you think I should add to the shelves, do let me know.
Lovely! I’m a great lover of bookshop.org!
