Lizzie Damilola Blackburn’s debut novel, Yinka, Where is Your Huzband? was published by Viking, today, 31st March 2022.
Yinka wants to find love. Her mum wants to find it for her.
She also has too many aunties who frequently pray for her delivery from singledom, a preference for chicken and chips over traditional Nigerian food, and a bum she’s sure is far too small as a result. Oh, and the fact that she’s a thirty-one-year-old South-Londoner who doesn’t believe in sex before marriage is a bit of an obstacle too…
When her cousin gets engaged, Yinka commences ‘Operation Find A Date for Rachel’s Wedding’. Armed with a totally flawless, incredibly specific plan, will Yinka find herself a huzband?
What if the thing she really needs to find is herself?
I should have reviewed the book today but Covid and a massive reading slump meant I didn’t manage to finish it (you’ll find out just how woeful my reading was tomorrow).
To make up for it and to celebrate publication day, I’m giving away a Kindle version of the book. I’m afraid it’s UK only as that’s all that is allowed. I’m also not very good at technical stuff so I’m not sure if I can even buy a copy for someone else!
To be in with a chance to win simply leave a comment below. Closes midnight Saturday 2nd April. No cash alternative and if it doesn’t go through onto your kindle for some reason I can’t supply another I’m afraid (I’m not made of money!).
Good luck.
