Oi! Where are duck-billed platypuses meant to sit?
And Kookaburras and hippopotamuses and all the other animals with impossible to rhyme with names…
Over to you Frog!
If you haven’ read Oi, Frog!, Oi, Dog! or Oi, Cat! then you are missing out on a treat. Frog rebels against the natural order instilled by Cat and decides that Frogs aren’t going to sit on logs. Having sorted out the seating arrangements for many animals Frog finds himself required to give resting places for the posteriors of those animals whose names happen to not rhyme with things.
So how will Frog sit all of the animals that don’t rhyme with anything. He has to get ingenious and in the process a little bit more personal with the animals. His ingenuity and silliness reaches its limits though one he meets one animal in particular.
Another firm favourite, it had to be read twice immediately after purchase, and once in the bookshop before we even got to the tills.
A fun, entertaining way of introducing children to a variety of wonderful animals.
As always, brillant. I can’t wait, I mean the kids can’t wait, to see who will sit where next.
